Not a fan of all these photo editing programs being available on the latest phones. Why would you want to change the faces on people in your photos to the “good” ones? The “photo” you “took” never occurred, it isn’t real, it isn’t memorializing anything. Who wants to make sure that both their kids are perfectly looking at the camera and smiling? It’s the stupid shit they do to ruin the photos that creates memories.
We are sacrificing real memories and life experiences for what, the pursuit of perceived perfection? We are creating alternative history just by the way we are documenting it and choosing to present it to others, to get their approval?
Maybe I’m just old-as-fuck at 30+, but I wish people were more interested in just living life and loving life as it comes at them. Social media is such a brain drain that just makes me sad. Also, as someone who does some divorce work, easily edited photos of children scares the fuck out of me and the implications there.
