The link I provided explains it. They can decrypt traffic through their own devices.

From the article:

A court in Madrid heard it was assumed the message triggered alarm bells after being picked up via Gatwick's Wi-Fi network.

Public wifi without a VPN is like sex without a condom. The connection may not be encrypted (very risky) and even if it is, you are still susceptible to man-in-the-middle attacks: https://www.garlandtechnology.com/blog/how-to-monitor-encrypted-traffic-and-keep-your-network-secure

I guarantee there will be a flood of articles about this over the next few days because of what I quoted above.

It's also possible that one of his "friends" reported him or something like that.

In general I agree, but there's no privacy on airport Wi-Fi. And very little at an airport in general.

Still seems to be down. In Connect for Lemmy I get an error message that it is down for maintenance

I was thinking Le Petit Belge

I don't have a suggestion for you because even though I love waffles I don't usually order them. But I'd be interested to see some other suggestions here.

There's a place on Robson across from the library that used to always have lines. I always figured they got on some list of "best place for waffles" or something.

"Massive Trouble"

Step 1 - Scrape everyone's data to make your LLM and make a high profile deal worth $10B

Step 2 - Get sued by everyone whose data you scraped

Step 3 - Settle and everyone in the class will be eligible for $5 credit using ChatGPT-4

Step 4 - Bask in the influx of new data

Step 5 - Profit

I know this behavior was requested, but the tap to collapse and long press to hide buttons are both really annoying to me.

  • If there's a link in the comment and you miss your tap, you end up collapsing the comment. Then it takes three (or 6, or 9) clicks to click a link. This is particularly common at small fonts. The old behaviour of collapsing when hitting the comment header was sufficient, and still too much IMO.

  • I usually use long press to highlight text and copy it. Maybe to bring up a menu. Having it hide a menu (the buttons) is just weird and disconcerting

Again, I know this was requested, so I tried to give it a chance, but I really dislike it, so I wanted to see how others felt. I'm recently coming from RIF btw.

This is great. Now we just need to figure out how to build it into Jerboa.

I saw they charge, looked around a bit for how much, couldn't figure it out and noped out.

Are you searching on the website or in Jerboa?

The search is a bit funny. If you're on the website and search and if the community hasn't been indexed by your instance, you won't get it in the results. But, if you search with the url https://feddit.uk/c/britishproblems even though it doesn't give results it will go and index the community. A few minutes later it will show up.

I don't know if that works in Jerboa (android app)
