Thanks for your input.

I'm sorry, could you express that again, perhaps?

It's a semi-hollow, so would make a little noise in the immediate area, but not like a classical, of course. Today you could use a small, battery-powered mini-amp to boost the sound a bit (likely sounding fairly crappy), but back in Chuck's day I'd say it's hugely unlikely.

Also, I’m not surprised he’s hitting up a high school…

I don't really know him outside his songs, but IIRC he was indeed something of a "hound dog." So yes, I struggled with the idea of posting these, but I do find them fun, quirky pieces, and Berry's of course an early, influential rock legend. Still, if the community heavily downvotes the post, I understand, and will delete it.

TBH Hermann's story-telling leaves me confused at times, and he seems to delight in drawing very homely people, but yeah... his landscapes in book two here totally impressed me.

They say German is one of the harder languages to learn but if you don´t mind that, sure why not!

Said the dude via impeccable English!

Balduin Bienlein

Wow, is that so!? Now "Baldwin" by my sources seems to in old West-Germanic: "brave, bold friend," right?

And then, about the second part: [pic]

Once again, I find it kind of odd (but not rare), how the Germanic-French language English, has roots which don't *always* refer to either of its parents, i.e. French & German.

Like-- the Latinish "miel" / "mielo" and Germanic-ish "Honig." It seems like they don't apply here...?

Seriously, my French has been coming along so well these days that I'm wondering what language I might want to study next. Now obviously it's going to take some time, but what about learning German? (I love the fact that it's the main building-block upon English)

Oh wow, how about that.

I assumed it was Die Wichtelmänner at first, but yes... instead of 2-3 elves it's many, and they're working on clothing, not shoes.

Because the title leaves out the fact that Kirk's native character was actually inspired by Horatio Hornblower, not Cook. Also, Hornblower was such a complex character that his attributes got split up in to both Kirk and Spock, evidently.

It's a pretty interesting read!

Frank Pé's done some really nice stuff, altho I'm sadly behind on most of it because my French is still pretty weak.

Glad you liked, and I hope to do a decent intro to him one of these days / weeks / months, haha.
