Isn't keeping it plugged in all the time really bad for the battery? It should stay between 30 and 80% iirc.

BioWare is dead

We've all known this was the case since Inquisition / Andromeda / Anthem, depending on how high your tolerance to bullshit is. Anyone getting hyped for Dreadwolf based on their track record of last 10 years is just setting themselves for disappointment.

Dunno why everyone hates vortex that much, it worked better for me than steam workshop, for instance, in most cases tbh. I can pick a specific mod version, either automatically download or manually import them, switch profiles and games with few buttons...

I've also tried thunderstore with r2modman and despite being open source it's years behind even vortex in terms of usability and UX.

RSS doesn't have trending or any sort of curation though, the news sources usually have 10 garbage click bait articles for any one that you might be interested in. I haven't found a way to make it work as a reliable way for trending news, yet at least.

That's pretty much what I said, and I'm not saying its the wrong choice for them - it just means that Mastodon can never be the replacement for twitter, yet people keep bringing it up as an alternative. I personally want news that I care about and on mastodon it all gets buried in a chronological feed filled with irrelevant stuff I don't care about. I'd probably like it if it only consisted of close friends that I care about, so its like a tightly knit social network, but not when its randoms across the world with some very hot or annoying takes.

And I'd love an alternative but bluesky is gonna have the same issue as twitter, its owned by the same type of people and actually funded by twitter the company from what i read. It's just trading one devil for another.

Mastodon will never be a twitter replacement simply because of lack of algorithm and proper content discovery, but seemingly the devs and admins there are fine with it and prefer it that way. It is definitely not filling my need for curated news and discovery of new interests that twitter used to provide before it went to shit, seems like bluesky might take over that function since most big content creators are shilling their bs pages nowadays.

There's also a question if each episode is 20 or 40 minutes. Either way, I can easily see them having a few episodes just for high school flashbacks or something, which doesn't leave a lot to cover the 90 minutes of the movie that could easily be expanded more to go more into the characters of each ex.

I really hope this is good but I've been burned way too many times with netflix remakes / adaptations in recent memory :P

Having the entirety of the movie cast behind me also makes me wonder just how expensive was it to make, what are the chances of it actually getting picked up for later seasons? Some googling tells me it's only an 8-episode season so far which doesn't seem like that much to cover the original comic properly.

And then I get even more random irrelevant crap because everyone talking about their latest rp adventures in stardew valley tags steam, gaming, indiegaming and other general hashtags.

Unfortunately this is not the fault of mastodon, its community or tech behind it as much as ... nobody from twitter actually moving to mastodon. There aren't many big influencers, companies or content creators on mastodon so your feed is just random people talking about random stuff. The lack of algorithm doesn't help either since someone's random showerthoughts have the same chance of showing up for you as does something trending that you'd actually be interested in.

Tbh it's not black and white. I'm sure a big corporation can extract a ton of information on us but there's still a pretty big gap between having our real names and photos plastered everywhere on social media, or them just knowing where I live and that I spend a lot on steam games. Don't take the small victories for granted.

Mastodon might be "better" but it's in a completely different league if it's missing 99% people I actually care about following on twitter. On mastodon the feed is just random people talking about their personal stuff and misusing hashtags, and usually when you bring this up the answer is "well duh, mastodon is not supposed to be twitter, it is its own thing".
