From what I've seen, the difference is that they either ship it same day, or wait a few days to ship it. It still arrives in the same amount of time from when it ships until I receive it, they just take their time (maybe artificially) in getting it out the door.

I cancelled Prime late last year, and haven't really missed it, either.
Leaving Prime also meant the end of free Amazon Prime Video (you can still rent or buy many movies without it), but I’ve been able to bear it.
While I had Prime, I think there was 1, maybe 2 instances where I wanted to watch something and it was actually included with Prime. Every other time, Amazon Video had the movie, but they wanted an additional fee to watch it, so this was absolutely no loss.
One thing to note: Every time I check out on Amazon, now, they offer me a reduced price 1-week "trial" of Prime, to get the expedited shipping, for like... $5 or so? If you cancel yours, and also see this offer: You can take the offer, submit your order (and get the free 2 day shipping), then once you get the shipping confirmation, go in and cancel the Prime subscription. Since you've had it for only a few hours, Amazon actually refunds the price you paid. In effect, you get the shipping benefits for free. We'll see if they close this loophole, but for now, it works.
Elon should be first in line to demonstrate how safe and side effect free this technology is!
I'm honestly not sure what's funny here. It does partially work - when you load the site, you immediately get blocked by an overlay that prevents you from seeing more than the first sentence. Disabling javascript removes that and shows the first few paragraphs. I already explained the 'might be correct' statement, and why I initially thought it was the article. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
You might be correct; it does remove the blocking popup, and I saw that someone else had posted the full article text and it included the truncation, so I assumed it was an error with the article itself, but they might've been using the same trick. Either way, it works most of the time, and it partially works here.
There is a fairly nice base location near the center of the map that has ~6 coal and ~6 ore nodes, and is on a plateau making it functionally immune to NPC raids. I found it completely accidentally; there's the 3 wildlife sanctuaries around the outside of the map and they all face inward at different angles, so I was trying to triangulate where they were "pointing" to see if it was leading somewhere. Turns out it was leading to a sweet base location.
This is noteworthy because there's 4 resources (ore, coal, sulfur and quartz), so you need a base with access to 2 of them if you want to have all 4 generating passively.
Sure, but it doesn't stop their votes from impacting what you see. So it's just adding an extra annoying step for you, without solving the underlying problem. In fact, I'd say it's an even worse experience because instead of seeing a post with 30 downvotes and 2 comments, you'll see a post with 30 downvotes and 32 comments, but they'll either all be low effort garbage, or they'll be invisible (because you blocked them). I imagine the moderators don't want to deal with an influx of reports about this, either; especially because they don't need the extra step to see who's doing it and ban them at the community level.
The company I work for reduced our office space from 3 floors of the building to 1, started leasing out the other two, and now maintains only a few conference rooms for client meetings and similar functions, the server rooms and IT space, and a very small set of communal workspaces for people who want or need to work from the office.
Point being, there're always options less extreme than "Sell the entire building!".
For what it's worth, if you customize the difficulty of your game (which you can do at any point, including after reaching the 40s), you can change most things, including resource drop rates and how much effort it takes to mine them, xp rates, Pal encounter rates, capture rates, etc.
I had a similar experience as you; by the time I hit 42 or so, I had the capture power maxed out, and most eggs were not giving me anything interesting, and I had the whole map revealed, so exploring had lost its luster and I was not enjoying the thought of grinding out another 6-8 levels to start being able to tackle some of the harder challenges in the game; I set the XP rate to x4, and doubled the resource rates, and it pretty much solved the problem for me.
Obviously if you're playing on a server this isn't an option, but if it's just your own single player game, consider trying it; you might find some settings that smooth it out for you.
"In that case, with our new-found leverage, we'd like to formally request a 40% pay increase and a 4-day work week to compensate for the inconvenience of propping up your failed real estate ventures. We look forward to your affirmative response."
This just creates an incentive for low-quality shit-post level replies from people who really want to downvote. Rather than "Downvote and move on", you now have "Comment 'go fuck urself', downvote and move on" among people who want to be toxic.
Now I'm imagining UK having a National Acid Association that lobbies the government and promotes acid ownership.
