kinda does mess up the game. the rims are made of normal material. They aren't invincible to bending or breaking. It's not just the showboating thing. You can f up the rim. Shaq famously shattered backboards without meaning to do so

It's really bizarre to talk to a guy like Adam Silver about domestic violence issues for players in his league. Police officers can barely figure that out in the moment. Conviction? Sure.. Accusation? What are we even talking about?
