Hi all,

I really liked the JLC master ultra thin date but unfortunately after first receiving a model with incredibly loud rotor rattle when tapped and then the replacement not having the rattle (but instead having hour and minute hands not perfectly aligned), I’ve completely lost confidence in the brand - a shame.

I wondered if you guys/girls had any suggestions for similar understated elegant dress watches around the same price (or ideally less!)

Hi all,

An AD has let me know they have a JLC piece I want for a very good price. However, it’s a piece that was returned to them and exchanged for another piece after 6 months.

The watch has some stickers still on and seems to be in very good condition.

The AD seems to be saying that I’ll have full factory warranty on it and, even if the previous owner activated it with JLC, I’ll still have 7.5 years warranty left.

However, if the watch was activated and registered on the JLC site by the previous owner (the AD doesn’t seem to be able to confirm this), how would I be able to transfer its ownership to me in the eyes of JLC?

The AD says in their own records it’ll be recorded as mine, but they are not being clear on how to manage my registration with JLC if the watch had indeed been activated previously.

Is there something fishy going on here? Anything I’m missing?

An AD let me know they have a watch I’m looking for available pre-owned (supposedly never worn but no stickers) at an excellent price.

However, I’m a bit wary of going down this route.

What kind of questions should I be asking about warranty etc? Is this the equivalent of buying on the grey market (I.e. no proper warranty from the manufacturer?)

Do we still think this watch is potentially a good buy? It’s so elegant and classy but:

1. Is it really worth the price tag vs comparable pieces in this range?
2. What kind of AD discount can one expect?

Also potentially thinking about the moonphase variant here.
