Do distro hoppers have to install all the sofrware they have anew when switching distros or how does that work?

I totally agree with your last statement. Honestly, I usually pirate or buy keys so I'm not one of those people paying full price for software, but regular updates are preferable.

Why not just use KeePassXC? It's completely free amd works great.

Huh, it's x11... Isn't Wayland also better for gaming? I would want to switch.
