I think a lot of these privacy concerns are more for people who actually want to use it for posting or making videos. Then I would be worried about all the data. I give them nothing, no real names or anything. So, I would say I’m okay. 👍

Let me just say that I learned more useful and interesting things than I ever did on any other social media platform to date. I also haven’t had a Facebook insta or any of that ilk since 2015. Reddit, then TikTok, then here at Lemmy is all I’ve had since then.

I found lots of videos giving me awesome facts about animals I never learned in school or elsewhere! (A opossum is naturally immune to rabies and is actually good for your wildlife area!)

I learned multiple ways to make things easier on myself, some being: car maintenance, cleaning, cooking, grocery shopping, acceptance of others and of myself, and laws and politics (that they then give you multiple sources for or show you the website or place they got their info) just to name a few!

While I still get videos that I find funny, most of them have been actually beneficial to me which I couldn’t believe I had been hating on TikTok for so long because I thought it was just dumbass pranks or mindless drivel like “satisfying” videos or whatever.

I’m not saying use it, because I haven’t in a few weeks, but it can actually give you really good and quality content.

I’m all for unions. I’m also all for people not having to work back breaking jobs such as I have. No one should be put through anything like that in this day and age.

After working in factories for most of my life on this miserable planet, being in an office is a great thing. I think people forget or don’t know how bad it is when you’re working in a non climate controlled building basically being told to work harder and harder, breaking your body AND your spirit. Not feeling well that day? Too bad, the production line won’t slow down for you, so you eventually get taken into the office and chewed out, possibly getting a write up. You would’ve stayed home that day, but your factory only gives you 4 points, and two weeks vacation that you HAVE to put in months ahead for it to be even considered.

Needless to say, I’d much rather 9-5 office and commute than to ever go back to breaking my body and soul at a factory or food establishment.

Did you ever play Force Unleashed or the KOTOR games? I like the idea behind the new Jedi games, but they really do not give me that Star Wars vibe like FU or KOTOR did. Force unleashed made me feel like a force user who we normally only hear about lore wise (Revan for sure, maybe lore accurate Anakin/Vader) but the KOTOR games were SOAKED in Star Wars vibes.

I’m only asking because the new Jedi games just felt mediocre (to me!) and uninspired.

I hate to bother, but do you have a good tutorial I can use to learn more about self hosting these types of pages? I’m sort of a “I’ve gotta see it all and do it all” type of gamer, so I’d love to be able to preserve these types of things for future replays after the game has entirely disappeared from my memory! (Why I’m currently doing this actually lol)

At the end of the day I can only think that some idiot, who this life has given more wealth than they deserve, spent $44 billion on electricity. It really would be hilarious if I didn’t know where all the money could’ve gone to actually benefit humanity.
