Tragic that a few services I use rely on AWS. Even those that are FOSS and as ethical as possible.

All of my self-hosted services are apparently safe, but things like multiplayer gaming on all console platforms, my energy provider, IMDB, and most likely all my local grocery stores for payment or online shopping, any data banks that run on AWS like TMDB, TVDB or individual Linux repositories, and the UK government has a partnership with Amazon.

Probably Albert Dyrlund

So that's why the USA is the primary source of monetised knowledge. Fwiw I fully support pirating educational media, because if many countries of the world can access a significant amount of education for free, everyone should have the same chance, regardless of how the government of the locale wants to rule and restrict it.

I support fair wages for those who deliver publicly available services at material cost only or lower, so I support taxation that finances it and minimum wage regulation. Even though I believe the current minimum wage in the West isn't sufficiently regulated. It needs to triple in order to catch up to the 'inflation', or the perceived monetary value of everything.

I didn't even know people were linking to external images here, especially to enshittified services. Figured everyone would download and reupload to post properly, instead of make their posts rely on a centralised server ykwim

Omg what?! My Galaxy S5 had Micro-USB, not this monstrosity, I think

Right? My Reolink detect on device so it's definitely ms. Even having HA handle screenshots with the delayed feed through AgentDVR would make it under 2s. OP's NVR is apparently running it through AfterEffects Pro and airbrushing before export

I can recommend Beets for tagging, with the Lyrics plugin. Perfect for my Navidrome server and synced lyrics work perfectly on Symfonium

Popular enough for reruns to be broadcast in England. I loved that show for a while as a kid

You guys have user bios? What client do you use?

For reference, here is the last post I made on this matter.

I have collected data based on some YouTube channels I have managed to (mostly) archive over the year. Specifically, I started archiving at the start of March 2025. Judging by this initial data I can more confidently say that either YouTube is performing some seriously shady shit, or an extremely high number of active YouTube creators have chosen to unlist an extremely high number of their videos in the past couple months.

About my data:

  1. The column titled 'Uploaded' is the number of uploads as shown on the creator's homepage.
  2. The column titled 'Public' is the number of uploads for each creator that are currently listed as of midnight, Fri 3 Oct 2025. This is shown via yt-dlp's count for the entire channel, and the videos visible on the channel's Videos tab.
  3. While the slight difference in number may seem unsuspicious, yt-dlp gathers a count of all listed videos, whether public, private, membership only, marked as NSFW or age restricted.
  4. I can safely say, given my current archive, that the significant deindexing by creator or by YouTube must have happened to each channel within the last few months. The difference between channels whose upload count matches my archive count, but is far higher than the public count, is suspicious to me.
  5. Each creator's entire upload set is purely vlog-style with minimal edits, and are not in the habit of breaching the Community Guidelines.

The stats:

The action:

  • I am currently contacting creators who have several hundred unlisted videos for confirmation, if they were the ones to delist them.

The conclusion so far:

  • While I am suspicious of sneaky behaviour, it is also possible that every missing video was actually unlisted by the creator.

I dont know what to think, really.

The Dekaif channel has 434 videos, but YouTube is only showing 275 to clients, whether logged in or not, whether yt-dlp or official access.

This isn't the first channel I've witnessed this, and weirder stuff, on. Another example is this video - "Belt" meme - it is accessible on Grayjay, yet not on YouTube, meaning (I think) that publicly shared videos are being deindexed, and yet they are still hosted.

You used to be able to take the video code from the URL (everything after '?v=' and before '&') and get the exact video in search results. Not now. The second YouTuber, Sparky, has 35 uploads, only 9 of which are visible. And I can attest that at least one of the remaining 26 is hosted, but invisible. I don't even know how it came up using Grayjay but not YouTube or Revanced.

Basically, there's a TON of shady underhanded shit happening at YTHQ and everyone needs to jump ship to Odysee, Peertube or some platform that won't be clogged with AI. This is bad for everyone.

I'm posting it here mainly because I verified my findings with yt-dlp, and this new bs is successfully thwarting my attempts to archive.

3rd Oct edit: I am seeing massive differences in indexed videos versus archived videos. I am currently aggregating but the definitely affected videos range from 10% to 50%

I just woke up to all my lights on and my server off. It was a power cut, but... Checking the logs for Proxmox, it seems to have lost memory.. There were no logs for 10 days and when rebooting it said the system clock was off by as much (931,920 seconds = 10.7 days). What do? Anyone seen this before?

Thanks all, gonna replace the CMOS battery as suggested. Got a few in storage. 🖤

Fuck Rockstar. I changed my email accounts a few years ago but forgot to change Rockstar first. This wasn't a problem. Now, after buying GTA V on Xbox and Steam and sinking a lot of time into it over two accounts, they added some mandatory launcher on Steam that forces you to login to their Social Club. Mandatory launcher calls an account that I can't unlink, triggers mandatory 2FA to an email that doesn't exist. They refuse to help despite my willingly handing over a lot of private information - their support system is as good as fake. The end result is I have sank >£100 in buying their games and they ensure that not only do I not get to continue my account on GTA V, but I have been permanently locked out and actually impossible to play any Rockstar Social - walled game on Steam.

Partial 'correspondence' of my third attempt to get help from them. Twice they ignored the support subject.

Judging by other complaints online this exact issue has persisted and screwed over players since the creation of GTA V, so at least 12 years.

I have the same issue with Activision, and here's the kicker. They're exactly the same blueprint. Same support. Same result. Same fake-ass Western names on their signature.

I feel like Rockstar needs to be continuously pressured, injustices talked about, just in case they give.

Just don't give corps like Rockstar money.

Additional:
(from Schwaggaccino • 2y ago • Reddit)

I emailed Rockstar and started a request ticket and they want me to log in to get me to reset my 2FA which is preventing me from logging in.

THIS IS PEAK CLOWN WORLD I CAN'T BELIEVE SOMEONE ACTUALLY GOT PAID TO IMPLEMENT THIS JOKE OF A SYSTEM

Edit: For the time being it seems they have disabled all support as none of my support requests are going through, even with omitting data and using VPN multiple times.. I've had seven unsuccessful tickets and was just brainstorming how to automate the requests.

Final Edit: Thanks for your responses everyone, looks like legal is the only route. After 24h my support requests are still being auto blocked (not submitting as there's no delay before response), and I am skeptical they switched off support for that long, even if it is fake, so they just blacklisted my details I think.

FUUU

Does anyone know of an ad blocker blocker blocker?

Clean repost. Original post was removed, so no link. Story for reference.

~~My network has reset several times and I've narrowed it down to an apparent DDOS attack. Never the same IP source, all hitting the specific port I use for incoming qBt traffic, shutting down the client doesn't help, router is getting 10-20 requests per second for idk, several hours. Is there anything I can do about this?~~

Edit: Thanks everyone, it's apparently not an attack and my router just sucks aha. It was overheating so I took its coat off. My router's log was filled with "DoS(SyN-Flooding)" messages, and according to Wikipedia that's a DDoS attack.

I wrote a script to run with Node JS that near perfectly organises (renames and moves) torrented movies. It is designed to work in Linux, to transfer to Emby folder convention. I was working on making a TV show version, maybe merging the two, and porting it back to Windows where I first built the script, but I recently discovered the *arrs do it all. Still, if anyone wants a script that does its best (with guidance and thorough logging), I've stored it here.

Edit: For other reasons I built another script that can clean up an existing media directory, deleting files with any extension the user chooses (subs, images, thumbs and movies with multiple qualities leaving the best one). I've added it to the same repo. This script was more of a WIP, but it gets the job done and includes a help argument.
