I’m looking at buying used on chrono24 or other from countries outside Canada. At first the price seems reasonable and offers enough saving to make it advantageous compared to buying new. However, I’m finding that after estimating import fees and taxes I am getting close to new price. Add in a service inspection or full service and the prices are very similar. Wondered if anyone else has found this to be the case and whether there are other ways to make buying used a better path for Canadians when buying watches from overseas?

Thinking about a pilot watch for my collection and came across this German company. I created this custom option and wondered what you think? Appears good value but not sure it weighs up against the brands with more history such as Laco and Stowa. I like that you can adjust some details, such as adding gold plated hands.

Hi, I found this Japanese microbrand and like the design of these vintage dressy timepieces. Wondered if anyone has any experience with this brand and can speak to the watches quality? With the sapphire glass, the watch is comparable to most $500 offerings from other micro brands. I’ve been looking at acquiring a Japan made timepiece, and was hoping to hold out for a future kurono until I stumbled upon this one.
