That is one of the coolest watches I have ever seen. the roman numerals apparently engraved into the raised dial in gold that contrasts with the sober colour is genuinely fascinating. Cartier makes cool watches but this one in next level. Congratulations and may you wear it in good health!

Thanks. The Citizen is a NJ0100-89A. I put it on a leather strap as the bracelet isn't the most comfortable.

Thank you. The Citizen big date currently needs servicing but it's a cool watch. it is a perpetual calender.

Thank you. I have had Vostoks in my collection before but currently don't own any. They are weird and wacky and I appreciate them for the modding potential.

After 3 years collecting I have 12 in the box that get regular wrist time as well as 5 that are occasional wear pieces or are waiting to be repaired. I am like you and have watches that I paid between 100 and 500 for but I like them all and many have a special significance.

As the title suggests I have a modest collection that is mostly 100 to 500 dollar watches. I have owned Longines, Tissots, Bulova, and more expensive Seikos but they didn’t hold me or I had other things to do with the money that felt more important in the moment. Interested in people’s thoughts and what you would pick up next if you had a collection such as this.

If it was me I would ditch the two Seiko 5s and the Citizen Quartz along with the CasioOak. Keep the rest. But, it's a pretty solid collection and if you enjoy them all than I would say keep them but a one in/one out or one in/ two out policy going forward.

Be wary of used Citizen Eco Drive watches. Citizen discontinues movements quite regularly so you will find it hard to get it serviced 5 to 10 years down the road.

Eterna might have something similar in their vintage arsenal. There are many many pieces on eBay and for reasons unknown to me this brand does not get the love it deserves.
