Can we please make vendor-locked bootloaders illegal, for repairability and consumer choice and all that? There's literally no reason for it, except to lock in customers.
I thought it was the deal with (what was it, TSMC?), they got the new nm generation first?
That bridge function would still need root (or critical level security holes) to be installed, if the ROM doesn't ship it.

Btw, is Alpine still maintained? I want to finally set up my server but in the last (old) image the installer is broken.
This means less battery life (or security margins) and or less powerful cpu.
