Get the Thailand METV, that will get you 6 months with extensions if done right. Then 3 months in Vietnam with their new evisa, and 3 months in Malaysia. That’s a year easy. Could then go another 3 months in Taiwan. Maybe that would give you a better indication if you wanted to invest more heavily in a long term visa once the tourist high wears off.

Look on the Facebook visa advice pages for Vietnam. There’s several agents that can fast track it with immigration for issues like these. Beats waiting another 3 days if you don’t have that option.
What’s funny about this is the U.S. govt themselves lump Hispanics into the white category. Next time try and explain that to whoever is asking you these questions while abroad. Should be a good convo.
