I have ADHD and sometimes can't focus to do more brain intensive work if I'm in a room with a bunch of people talking. Street/background noise doesn't bother me at all. I grew up suburb rural adjacent but I've worked in huge cities for long periods and it just doesn't bother me like six people having two conversations would.
It's so hard to leave. Not only is it expensive, but the family ties tie us up. My mother in law refuses to move away from my sister in law's kids. My wife refuses to move away from her mother, because she is elderly and needs our help. I owe a lifelong debt to my wife so I will not leave her.
My friend is moving to Uruguay. I would love to join him.

It's not much of a metaphor. Before time began people associated their personality with their truck. This was commonly expressed by putting a decal on their gender affirming vehicle of Calvin pissing on another brand of trucks. This is the way they professed their worship of a car brand, heterosexuality, and sense of humor all in one.
Modern gender affirming vehicles typically use different decals, mostly so people are assured of the driver's heterosexuality, their support of fascists, and their willingness to shoot someone for any reason.
