That is producing for the rest of the world and especially for the west. It’s hypocritical to blame china while buying stuff that had to be cheaper and cheaper.
I don’t consider this „paranoid“ at all.
I’d suggest Signal Messenger as a alternative for WhatsApp. It’s an easy enough switch for most people and therefore I’m my opinion more practical. I was able to convince - over time - most of my peers to move over and could then cut off and delete WhatsApp.
The mass won’t even consider being part of a paid membership of a cooperative that’s only purpose is a web browser. That would be the way to drive them even more into Chrome or Safari.
