We laugh so we don't end up screaming. 😂 😆 😱

I was thinking something similar. Like if a "God" exist they would be like a programmer that set us up and then let us run. Why? They wanted us to transform the world into a plastic hellscape. After that it would be "terrafromed" (plasti-formed?) for whatever will be the evolutionary descendants of those bacteria that are eating the microplastics in the Pacific Garbage patch.

No, but only cause we are just starting to notice the build up. Think about it this way. There's something building up in our body that doesn't have a purpose other than getting in the way other functions.

That is the least destructive it will be to our bodies. Functions will be worse because plastic is taking the place of valuable nutrients or microbotical gut biome. Or it's just in the way and that brain to cells message take a bit longer. Butterfly effect stuff all over your body on a micro level.

We can't even really run proper comparisons because we don't have a control group. Literally every living creature has this build up. The only way someone will have less micro plastics is if they give birth. The act of growing human cells moves some plastic from the mother to the baby. It's all a guess, but of course that's science. Now is the "fun" part of proving what theories are true.....somehow.

Pick up a hobby, read a book. Not sure how Japan or other countries are living, but one thing we still have in the USA are public libraries. We can download an app and check out books. For free. There is a lot more stuff at the actual library, but downloading books and reading them for money sounds like something I can retire doing. I take book reading days at my current job. As long as I put in "8 hours" of work they don't care how I spend my 8 hours.

I think they did that after WW2 instead of having a symbol carved on them, so everyone know what they stand for. I'd rather know who I'm talking to, so I can not care about their opinion.

I was thinking about it through the lens of his PR people and long term. He's was very popular and has a bunch of money. He doesn't need to do anything. His PR team is thinking, what about any future money?

His mistake was exactly what he apologized for. Did you read it? It was about not adapting comedy to the audience and time. He mentioned ski slopes and stuff too. That is what I was referring to.

I think he was trying to get a buzz for his stand-up by going anti-woke. Then those people didn't show up for him because they are still laughing at Rob Schneider.

After Jerry realized his mistake, he figured he would say he grew and learned to help any damage control. I don't think people really care enough about him for this, but he is rich enough to have people tell him.

No Weinstein isn't apart of it this time.

So, I suppose we need to take some MAGA, weaken it with formaldehyde or something, and then inject that into people's brains to give the brain a chance to fight back before it gets overwhelmed.

I've been trying to convince anti-vaxxers that it isn't the medicine, but the micro plastics that are causing all the "new diseases" and being able to diagnose more autistic kids. I would rather them believe that it is caused by plastics and not medicine. I think being anti-plastic is better than anti-vax.

You think it is simple because Trump is so obviously not a good faith actor, but let's pretend he gets elected again (possibility). He declared everyone against him (not just Dems) enemies of the state and ineligible to hold office. This reminds me of Russia, oh wait he would like that.

Unfortunately our democracy hinges on whether or not we can convince our fellow citizens that freedom matters and to over vote. Winning by 51% isn't enough. In order to make effective change, the Dems would need to win and get a supermajority in the house and Senate. And THEN DECIDE to give up power to change our government to a STAR vote or ranked choice style. Some form of representation democracy so that our politians would have to negotiate properly. Citizens United needs to go along with the part of the judicial that was installed because of the fascist movement of the heritage foundation.

I just doubt this will happen. It is possible, but I'm not sure how. The left never has enough resources to play the decades long game. They(conservatives) were manipulating the media in the early 1900 to stop progressive movements. They delayed Teddy Roosevelt getting into office. After he did get in and people saw how effective and popular progressive movements were, they decide to work against it. They still are. They just bought all the media empires now, so it is easier.

I could have worded that better. It wasn't my first time. I took some family and it was their first time.

Anecdotal evidence. I went to early vote on Thursday, afternoon timeframe. It was busy for early voting. I was surprised. There was only like a 5-10 min wait, but still for early voting on a Thursday? A lot of the people verify information were announcing 1st time voters for people to clap. I probably heard it 4 times during that 10 mins. 1 of the first time voters was with me, so that might skew the data but still.
