It did succeed in driving some of Blacpain’s few loyal customers away from the brand, so as a shot to one’s own foot it was really brilliant.

Yes it does. They ruined Blancpain in my book. I had two BPs and sold them both when they did that. I’ll never buy another.

I do find it wears a little lighter, though not as much on steel. In leather it wears quite a bit lighter. I love how my speedy fits, don’t get me wrong, but it is just a touch a bigger.

I have the JLC on steel and absolutely love it. I have a Speedy Moonwatch and I love it, too, but for a moonphase the JLC is just more elegant for me. Both beautiful and a matter of opinion, obviously!

Moonphase for me, but it’s really the calendar/moon combo. FWIW, that watch is in my top 3 right now so I came in with heavy bias.

First expensive watch debating if it’s too big or not. 8” wrist in c/watches@style.land
