Well, the ship was towed outside of the environment.

I think it's meant to be a joke.

I think part of it is a fundamental weakness in the Swedish judicial system where you need clear perpetrators and clear victims, meaning that if you have a group of people committing a crime and you can't prove that they intentionally cooperated to commit the criminal act or who did exactly what, they may go free (exhibit A). The same goes if you can prove the crime but not the victims (exhibit B).

Of course the bar is higher when it comes to the police, they will pull out all the stops to prevent one of their own getting investigated, but this issue runs even deeper.

At least Spotify and Apple Music don't

Spotify does have an application for Linux, if you're gonna harp on about facts you should at least stick to them.

Worth noting that this is just solar without grid-scale storage so it can't quite offer the adaptability of coal. PV + storage is closing in fast though so soon it'll be better in all regards.

I want to add that experimental reactors used for scientific research might never become net energy positive and that would be fine. Their purpose isn't to generate profit, it's to learn more about the physics, so it will be more valuable for them to be adaptable than efficient.

However, that doesn't mean that you can't take a configuration that has been shown to have potential and make a reactor that is more efficient than adaptable and use that to generate power for the electrical grid.

Basically, they have two different purposes.

it's really unprofessional to present the act of quitting as requiring 2 weeks' notice

If it's part of the contract then it's not unprofessional at all to bring up the terms that you've agreed on. My job requires a month's notice and it wouldn't be unprofessional for my employer to bring that up if I tried to quit on the spot.

That being said, I don't live in a place with "at-will employment", which is a fucking travesty and should never have been allowed in the first place.

Didn't Mythbusters just prove that the particular kind(s) of fecal bacteria they checked for are present everywhere at all times?

[–] Pelicanen@sopuli.xyz 6 points 9 months ago

Mythbusters proved that there are fecal bacteria everywhere and as such you can never reasonably completely avoid it. However, they didn't prove whether there are other bacteria or viruses that are kept contained with a closed lid compared to with an open lid, or if the viral/bacterial load is lower with a closed lid.

Not to mention it features Whitest Kids U' Know's very own Zach "gallon of PCP" Cregger.

One thing that works for me on Pop OS is to switch audio device in the settings, it's like the buffer gets filled up and switching device flushes it.

I've mentioned it in a similar thread but Sting - What Could Have Been (ft. Ray Chen) is one that just breaks me down into a sobbing mess every time I listen to it.
