Consider the LAMY AL-star EMR. Nice balanced pen. Keeping the cap on also adds a little more weight. Using with the cap on throws my writing off, but works for others.

Personal fan of the Kindle Scribe Premium and Lamy AL-Star EMR pens.

You can pull up recently opened documents by a dual figure swipe down and also create favorite docs. This can help improve the speed of accessing files, but won't address all of your concerns.
