I’m in South Carolina, so that wouldn’t work so well here since everyone already knows what that means. I do agree that not giving them the opening to elaborate is key.
PlasticExistence
I’ve often said that in order to redirect a conversation because I don’t like the opinion of the person I’m talking to and not because I’m actually ignorant about the subject.
This happens at work mostly, and I can’t just nuke that bridge with the person because we have to keep being able to work together. I’d like to tell them off for being ignorantly intolerant, but instead it’s more effective to just take away their enthusiasm for whatever they’re talking about. Do it enough times and they’ll eventually find someone else to bother.
No, no. It’s too perilous.
In most of the older, Lucas-era Star Wars games it was the same thing with lightsabers because (IIRC), they didn’t want their games to be synonymous with gore.
I know that Jedi Outcast had a cheat code that did let you dismember enemies. After typing ''devmapall'' in the console, you enter
g_saberRealisticCombat 1
I only ever really enjoyed using a saber in Jedi Outcast once I used that cheat, but it does feel like cheating since you become kinda OP.
So anyway, I’m sure that it makes for a better game not to have an invincible weapon that slices through everything as base equipment, but I would love for Fallen Order to have that same kind of cheat code.
he still kept getting voice-over roles
Must have been because of his rich, leathery tone*
*I know that the original commercial was “soft Corinthian leather”
To be clear the Democratic Party is a private organization and they can do whatever they want. It's completely within their rights to say "we need to stop Bernie Sanders" and put in action a plan to do just that.
Legally speaking, yes. Ethically, fuck no. When they admitted Bernie into the party so he could run in their primary, they created a huge chain of events that involved thousands of people and millions of dollars. It’s wrong for them to allow such a charade to go on if they have no intention of honoring their own voters.
Your existence might be a blessing, but I live in constant pain with genetic diseases that I couldn’t prevent and can do very little about. The cost of healthcare has nearly bankrupted me multiple times, and Trump being elected again is most definitely not going to improve any of this for me.
Is it really so hard to believe that’s exactly how millions upon millions of people go about living their lives?
Yes, that does seem completely insane to people like you and me who don’t tolerate that level of willful ignorance in ourselves, but to someone else that’s all just noise that they tune out.
Ever heard the phrase, “Hell is other people“? I’m slowly starting to believe this existence is a punishment.
It’s looking increasingly likely that the US Department of Justice is going to succeed in their antitrust efforts against Google. Currently, Mozilla gets something like 85% of their funding from Google for being the default search engine in Firefox. That may be deemed anticompetitive behavior by a judge, at which point Mozilla will be left with very little funding compared to their current situation.
I’d bet these actions are in anticipation of that happening.
I can’t stand to use a touch screen for anything 3D, however I can tolerate 2D gaming that way with an on-screen controller overlay. I almost never use my phones for gaming though.
