Um, America? Name any large company and it's America based and tracking you.

Microsoft, Google, Apple, Amazon, Meta..

Meanwhile all of the services I use that do respect my privacy are from other countries like Switzerland, Canada, Sweden..

Ok and I'll just crack it like I do with every other windows version.

Once I paid $250 for Windows pro and a month later my licence key stopped working, and Microsoft didn't do shit.

I even bought it directly from them!

Never paid money for Windows since.

This is the 3rd redesign in the last 2 years lol. Damn.

Debut and still is garbage.

There's a reason why Apple users have both installed.

Does Apple Maps even have reviews?

I use DDG exclusively now, but I will say, despite the downvotes from these annoying ass FOSS users, DDG is worse.

If I am having some very specific issue with my computer, I will be page 5 on DDG without an answer, but Google will have one page 1.

Also Google Images is light years ahead DDG.

It took a long time to adjust to DDG, but now I am fine with it.

All browsers make it easy. In fact, Chrome on Android is quicker.

Settings > Search Engine > and select which one you want.

Currently you can pick between;

  • Google
  • Yahoo
  • Bing
  • DuckDuckGo
  • Ecosia

That's not the point at all.

Meanwhile all conservatives want to privatize healthcare because they think Americans walk in, pay $100, and get seen within 5 minutes.

I try to tell them that they have the same wait times and pay thousands. At least in Canada we don't leave the ER with a bill. They don't listen, though.

If you're leaving you don't need to be there in the first place.

I went a couple months ago, waited 2 hours, and then was hospitalized for a week.

My girlfriend went 4 days ago. Waited 3 hours for stitches.

If you're able to leave, you never should've come in the first place.

Nope. Canada has had tap to pay for as long as I can remember. When Android Pay rolled out, nothing really changed. We just tap our phones instead of the physical card now.

How messy is your wallet that you don't know?

My wallet consists of my health card and drivers license. Everything else is via Google Pay, and I've not carried cash in Canada for over a decade and a half.

The hell you carrying around?

[–] Polar@lemmy.ca 11 points 1 year ago

Why are you like this?

[–] Polar@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Not to mention a lot of their killed apps/services are old versions. Like angularJS was upgraded to Angular V2.

That's like saying Mozilla is killing Firefox because they released version 120!

Also a lot of the services were "killed" to combine them into one service. The thing people have been begging Google to do for years, to merge apps and focus on one instead of 10 separate ones.

Or the fact there's hardware on there, like Google "killing" Google Home Max. You mean releasing Google Next Max? The next version?

That website is garbage, and anyone that links it is just being dishonest.
