Okay, and when you wonder why websites shut down, it's because people like you.

Leaving the site is fine. Blocking their pop-up is just stealing their bandwidth.

You're the reason many websites have become pay per view, which then I'm sure you bitch about. Nothing in life is free. Either you pay to access, or you view ads.

It's actually sad that you're upset that a website is asking you to disable Adblock so they can continue to fund their website, and provide you with free content.

SMB.

But when I use Xiaomi File Manager or Material Files, and the SMB protocol, it works.

Xiaomi File Manager is REALLY slow, but Material Files is actually pretty fast over VPN and mobile data.

Still scratching my head as to what makes Solid Explorer different..

Okay?

Someone asked which phone, I replied.

And you can root and install a custom ROM day 1.

Ya, how dare a website gets revenue to pay their writers and server host.

Solid Explorer.

However, when I'm VPNing into my unraid server, for some reason Solid Explorer doesn't work? I downloaded Xiaomi File Manager, and while it's EXTREMELY slow, it does work via the VPN.

Does anyone know why?

Edit: tried Material Files to replace the Xiaomi app, and it also lets me connect to my shares when I VPN into my unraid server. I wonder why Solid Explorer refuses to connect..

Entitled? I never asked anyone to buy me a phone. Go be angry elsewhere. The fuck 😂

Honestly the worst part about Windows is the fact that sometimes it will restart to install updates through the night, closing everything you had opened. The preinstalled garbage is also annoying, but can be uninstalled easily.

Outside that, it honestly just works. It's great for old people.

My experience has been the same as yours. Trying to get WiFi, Audio, webcam, bluetooth, GPU, etc. working on a Linux distro is a nightmare. Then when you get it working somewhat, it'll just be randomly borked the next time you boot your system. Requiring another 5 hours and 600 tabs of research to figure out what you did to fix it the first time.

Yea, I pay for mine. The fuck is this entitled ass comment about?

A pixel? None of that comes pre-installed and it's one of the only devices that comes with the ability to unlock it and flash a custom ROM day 1.

[–] Polar@lemmy.ca 3 points 2 years ago

When it works, it's great. But no matter how much you spend, which brands you go with, how you have it set it, eventually something is going to fuck up, and you'll spend half your day fixing it all.

I mean pixel doesn't, and they're unlockable and rootable from day 1.
