Earlier this week, Japanese manga publisher Shueisha filed a DMCA subpoena application in the U.S., as it continues to pursue the operators of major pirate sites. At the very top of Shueisha's latest list is Mangajikan, a site that appears to have received 185 million visitors in May alone. In Japan, that made Mangajikan more popular than Instagram, Facebook, and ChatGPT. But right now, on what used to be its front page, is a very clear message: Website Closed.

A Google Cloud outage took down multiple popular online services including Spotify, Discord, and Google, with tens of thousands of users reporting issues, according to Downdetector.

Cloudflare, which also reported service issues, attributed them to Google Cloud and said its core services were unaffected.

Georg Spöttle, a regular presence in pro-Orbán media, has come under scrutiny after one of his close acquaintances failed a background check—triggered by concerns over Spöttle’s Russian connections. Information obtained by Direkt36 reveals that Spöttle had a close relationship with an officer from the GRU, Russia’s military intelligence agency.

  • Check Point Research uncovered an active malware campaign exploiting expired and released Discord invite links. > - Attackers hijacked the links through vanity link registration, allowing them to silently redirect users from trusted sources to malicious servers.
  • The attackers combined the ClickFix phishing technique, multi-stage loaders, and time-based evasions to stealthily deliver AsyncRAT, and a customized Skuld Stealer targeting crypto wallets.
  • Payload delivery and data exfiltration occur exclusively via trusted cloud services such as GitHub, Bitbucket, Pastebin, and Discord, helping the operation blend into normal traffic and avoid raising alarms. The operation continues to evolve, and threat actors can now bypass Chrome’s App Bound Encryption (ABE) by using adapted tools like ChromeKatz to steal cookies from new Chromium browser versions.

Computers are making life-changing decisions about healthcare, welfare and education with minimal or no human input. Automated decisions could become more common with the Data (Use and Access) Bill that is going through Parliament at the moment.

But posting like this, just to air your problems, isn't fit.

Where exactly did I "air" my "problems"

[–] Pro@programming.dev -2 points 6 days ago

WOW

I can't tell if you are trolling me or not.

I'm done here.

Me too brother, me too.

If nothing else, this belongs in Chat, not Technology.

Nope.

Having your feelings hurt by people disagreeing with you suggests little online exposure. But you're frankly talking about an industry you have no knowledge of.

What what you are talking about, bro.

Your comment summary is just you repeating that I know nothing about the industry.

Today the whole beehaw technology community had only 2 new posts posted in the previous 24 hours. If my post bothered you that much, I guess you reflecting on yourself on your comment.

First, deleting a repost is clearly not evidence of any kind of bias.

That is not a repost, this is an other article from ProPublica: https://www.propublica.org/article/inside-ai-tool-doge-veterans-affairs-contracts-sahil-lavingia

Second, maybe Ars is just more popular/trusted? Maybe it's more upvoted because the Ars title is more meaningful, it's super well known that people mostly only read the title.

Are you joking with me? They are using a paraphrased title.

I'm not saying reddit isn't manipulating things, I'd be shocked if they weren't. But this isn't really evidence that they are.

I am really curious, what sort of evidence you want/expect to see?
