There is a project for Debian too, but I don't have root so I did it in proot. Works, but I couldn't manage to start a VNC server for the life of me due to a complete lack of proper permissions and the lack of an init system.

chroot into an ARM64 distribution is a must.

I feel like its way too streamlined. And with its UI I feel like I have very little choices in how it operates.

Just the existence of CUDA means Linux must remain a target for Nvidia.

Also, this can be quite easily compared to Windows changing their driver's structure and functionality. And Microsoft did it many times in the past.

Open source software is given with specific licenses. The Linux kernel is made of many smaller open-source components that each can have their own license. Some of the licenses used disallow the partial or full usage of the licensed software or components in proprietary settings, or in general given usage for specific cases only (in this case, the Nvidia driver using components they are not licensed to use.).

To me, Lutris has always been a very stubborn application.

  • Saying a game is running while its not
  • saying a game is not running while it is
  • unclear library override versioning (whats the difference between disabled and Manual, why can't I provide my own version from the UI directly then)
  • hard to troubleshoot as I cannot see at a glance how Wine is invoked and the logs tend to be hard to read inside the logs popup window
  • hard to see what winetricks is trying to do when invoked from it

Yet, when I say it gets the job done I mean it. But the program itself adds some more headaches, yet I need it as I don't know how to do half of what it does from a terminal and/ore scripts only.

I find Lutris so extremely annoying. I feel like sometimes it just never does what you tell it to do. Bottles is even worse, I simply feel like I am being crippled in possible actions you can perform.
