If you want to use a custom rom, i can recommend pixels. Basically every custom rom is first and sometimes only available for pixel. I myself have a pixel 6a with lineageOS and magisk for root. Works fine apart from expected problems of tinkering with normally locked down files (be careful with ui customisation, got into a bootloop cause i wanted to change my quick tiles. Luckily easily fixed by deleting the settings folder of the app)

Edit: The app i mentioned was iconify which has a guide on what to do when bootlooping because of the app. (Need adb for that tho)

At this point i'd rather do a full reinstall. Would probably solve my other issues too

At the start yes. But it deteriorates with time. I can't even update because of dependency conflicts and whatnot. My system is held together by ductape and a piece of bubble gum

You could try to flash a generic android image, although it seems like those have degraded in quality judging from the linus tech tips video that mentioned this

I actually prefer the newer ones, i always hated the like shiny 3d type of look. However some companies/designers/whatever do a bit to much nowadays. ~~or should i say to little🤔~~

Thanks, in gonna try that as soon as i am home (which is in like 2 weeks, and im not on vacation 😵‍💫)

Like the title says i need an os for a x86 tablet.

I already tested various different linux distros, (mint, ubuntu, debian etc.) with various de's (gnome, xfce, plasma, plasma mobile) but nothing really suits a tablet. I tried android x86 but that wouldn't install.

Basically my problem is that apps etc. Are made with mouse and keyboard in mind making me unable to for example easily scroll as i have to drag the scroll bar manually.

Anyone got ANY recommendation? The default os was mint btw.
