Some of the driving i see in tighter areas like parking lots makes me question how the hell the driver even got a lisence.

The practical portion of the test I took to get my license was a joke. You could take your test anywhere at at any time of the day so you could schedule the test for 10am in a sleepy town with very little traffic. They just had me drive around for a few minutes and then passed me. No zipper merging, no parallel parking, no reversing driving at all, no tight places and nothing challenging.

Florida has a population density greater than France (400per sqmi vs 300 per sqmi for France) so there is zero excuse for any east coast state to be this car dependent. Florida could have easily built denser communities connected by public transit allowing them to preserve more of their wetlands to greatly reduce their risk of flooding.

I feel I am getting rejected by positions that are way below my qualifications.

Also below your pay grade, that's most likely why.

You're not wrong, but it is almost comical how stupid this situation has become: new grads aren't allowed to work because they don't have experience, but experts are also being denied work because they have too much experience??? It makes no storming sense.

The Chinese are making great, very affordable EVs that are $9k brand new. But they are illegal in the US because American billionaires can't profit from them

Car dependency has created a world that forces children to live online since they can't do anything outside without their parents driving them around. So I just don't see how banning TikTok does anything to address the root problem. Banning Tiktok does nothing to solve the root issue of lacking 3rd places and community.

Also, kid killing giant SUVs and pickups would require a commercial license to own and operate. The US has 10x the vehicle fatality rate of other developed countries because the US doesn't actually (consistently) respect life and doesn't value safety.

US voters are never given the chance to vote for non-capitalist candidates. But this year we actually have a socialist in the running which is why I am voting for Claudia de la Cruz this year.

America is so different from when I was a child. Late stage capitalism is destroying our once great national like a malignant brain tumor and it is painful to watch

Instead of saying "good shape" which is a boring / potentially problematic answer, instead say "someone who is into (whatever sport or activity you enjoy)". If you love to cycle or trail run then wanting someone who shares your interests is legitimate.

But when people ask for your preferences they want to know your actual preferences (the positives), not the dealbreakers.

For example, if I asked someone out to lunch and asked what kind of food do they prefer (their preference) then I don't want to hear a list off all the foods they dislike.

I am pretty sure working from home has proven to be more productive, so I think other factors are at play here. I worry that returning to the office might be the only way to keep the capitalists from trying to send our jobs over to poorer nations. If the tapeworms think the job needs to be done face to face then it is much hardet to send those jobs to India or S. America.
