Very cool interview, worth the full watch.

Imagine the same for a blu-ray film...

Because it's centralized, I prefer SimpleX.

You're guessing right, that was the critique, a statement can be a way to critique.

Corrected, ty. I'm a non-english musician :D

What's the issue with the team?

[–] SolarPunker@slrpnk.net 4 points 1 month ago

I'm a musician and Ardour is the goat.

So I cannot critique the idea because some fan would like this? I don't see your point here, I'm interested in videogame as art, not to commercial success.

We also already know what fans bring to creator, look at Netflix series...people don't really know what they want.

Pixel art will always be great but...do you really need another fucking Pokémon game?

As a "game purist" I've a 1080p desktop setup for PC and retro, I'm planning to build a full 4k space in the future for this/next gen; 2k is a particular spot, more work oriented, but it can be used to play better well-optimized PC games that don't need a 4k gamepad experience (I think it hardly depends on the screen size and how it's placed). I would also really like to buy a real CRT in the future!

That's another reason consoles still make sense for many gamers.

PS. From a PC player

Is it a good idea to share files between two Android phones anonymously thru the SimpleX Chat transfer protocol? Or are there easier/better ways?

The fantasy-story of right-wing anarchy is creating misinformation, someone thinks that something like "anarcho-capitalism" is real philosophy, instead of the linguistic distortion of fascist-capitalism that it is.

Should people even specify that they are left-wing anarchists now? Do we really want to put a stop to this propagandistic joke? Anarchy will always be the extreme left into the political pendulum.

And I will tell you more: anarchism is by its nature also pacifism, as it aims to prevent any form of uncontrolled power on others. This is to silence even centrists: another fake group, people who think that it's not "extremist" in its own abstinence, in delegating violence.

I use this HDMI switch between PC and PlayStation4, it seems that PS4 has no problems at all but PC often struggles to get signal back and no longer appears on screen after the switch. Looks like PC can perfectly switch without issue in the BIOS or when I boot in "nomodeset", so it should be something Linux related. I've also tried with my intel iGPU bypassing my RX580 and the issue persist.

My setup:

EndeavourOS (Arch Linux), KDE Plasma, systemd-boot, SDDM, amdgpu, a cheap nobrand HDMI switch with a simple but respectful job to do

Additional notes:

  1. If I manually unplug the monitor's hdmi switch and plug it back in it works, maybe something related to power options?
  2. Maybe I have to load graphics modules earlier at kernel startup? I don't know if they are already like this by default on recent kernels but it's a consideration.
  3. Another hypothesis is that it's BIOS related, I've already tried to set the PCIe GPU as primary. I have disabled secure-boot and fast-boot to use the distro.
  4. Thanks for any advice, in these days I will also try other consoles and devices, I will update this post.

[updates]

  1. Looks like if I turn-off my PS4 first, then I can switch to PC.

What fonts are you currently using on your system? Which do you think is best for the terminal or for your desktop environment?

(updates) Ok I think I'm a fan of Ubuntu nerd fonts right now

"Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare since 2021, was shot and killed outside an entrance to the New York Hilton Midtown in Manhattan, New York City, on December 4, 2024. He was in the city to attend an annual investors meeting for UnitedHealth Group, the parent company of UnitedHealthcare. Authorities believe the attack was not random. Thompson had been criticized for UnitedHealthcare's rejection of insurance claims, and his family reported that he had received death threats in the past. The shooting occurred early in the morning, and the suspect, initially described as a white man wearing a mask, fled the scene."

(edit) I would like to point out that Luigi Mangione is only a suspect and there are currently doubts about the integrity of the evidence.

It seems that YouTube is killing them all but I don't know the technical details, via FreeTube I noticed, from this link (https://api.invidious.io/), that there are very few left and they require signup, and probably financial support from users.

My research and AI's responses seem inconsistent or unsatisfactory, so I prefer to ask these questions to Xbox players, thanks to anyone who takes the time to respond!

  1. Are the games actually emulated or are they just downloaded digitally using the disc as a key?
  2. Does the compatibility transform games significantly or is it a remaster-like optimization?
  3. Is it possible to use this feature offline therefore not caring about any Microsoft server support cessation?
  4. Are there significant differences in how backward-compatibility works on Xbox One versus Xbox Series X?
  5. What are some other aspects of this backwards compatibility feature that are worth mentioning?

Which brands are generally more piracy-friendly? Do you suggest any specific model? Or maybe there are products that are easily customizable at the OS level? Thanks!

There's a wiki or something to learn Godot with a maintained textual resource?

Also there are common practice/scripts and tips to learn somewhere?

Hi, I recently discovered a post that finally allowed me to run the known repacks on Linux, so I decided to summarize everything and share it with you here on Lemmy; let me know if you would improve some steps to make the procedure even easier to follow.

4. "Disable Desktop effects" (on)
5. "Disable Screen Saver" (on)
6. "Enable Feral GameMode" (on)
7. Save

Wine Versions Management

1. Open ProtonUp-Qt > choose Lutris > Add version
2. Choose and Install (ignore -LoL versions; Wine-GE suggested)
3. Restart Lutris

Install Windows Repacks

Hi, looks like I can't find infos on that. I'm on Arch Linux and the post-install path is in /home/USER/ES-DE but I would prefer more something like "/home/USER/.emulationstation"
