Honestly not sure what they can do to fix Starfield. Bug fixes and QoL aren't going to help the systemic issues the game has.

LOL! MS uploaded the documents to a public server. I'd say someone's losing their job over this, but they're probably gonna get sued too.
There's a sucker born every minute. You might want to read up on that "game" before committing any money to it.
Not sure how old your kids are, but mine are 7 and 11 and I would definitely NOT play BG3 with them. If it were a movie, I don't think it would even get an R rating given all the sex and gore.
(To be clear, not judging the game. I quite enjoy it. Just don't find it appropriate for my little ones. Caveat emptor.)
FWIW, I had a lot of fun playing thru Portal with my son. No official co-op mode in the first one, but the second one has it and it's pretty old at this point so should run fine on older machines.
That explains why they look that way, it doesn't explain why a AAA game in 2023 was allowed to ship that way, though.

I haven't run SteamOS but it seems to run just as well on Pop as it did on Windows, if that means anything.

I get kind of annoyed by what words they decide to add or leave out on a given day. I feel like the hand curated aspect makes it feel like major BS when you think of a good word that isn't valid and then you see "woot" and "psht" or shit in other languages as valid words.
You used to be able to literally brick your build (get to a point where it's impossible to progress any further) in Bethesda games. I'm sure that's changed now, but that paranoia lingers.
Have you played Katamari Damacy? I feel like it was a pretty obvious influence on Donut County.
