Don't call it a failure. It's a struggle. A challenge you need to overcome. Be kinder to yourself.
I wish I could tell you something that will magically make a Trump presidency seem not so bad. I genuinely do. But at the end of the day you need to keep 2 things in mind.
- He's not president. He may never be again.
- Life moves on regardless of what the US election outcome is. Life will move on. Will it be harder for some people who are affected by his policies? Absolutely, but life does move on. You have the good benefit of living in Europe. The majority of his disastrous policies are domestic and concern Americans.
Take life one day at a time. There's no benefit with overwhelming yourself with what-ifs to this extent.
Trump isn't worth this. No one is. Get off the internet and go outside or focus on a hobby. Stop doomscrolling.
Poor people more often have the kind of reaction of "Oh, that must have cost a lot." whereas richer people will simply say "Yeah that's good for you, it's important to get the good stuff".
A big thing is thinking about finances constantly and asking those kinds of questions in social settings. It's more of a common thing to do when you're in a poorer environment.
It's a propaganda piece. It even reads like one.
Replying to unpopular opinion posts with arguements kind of defeats the point of unpopular opinions.
So no discussions are expected to happen on a post, and site, that promotes discussions?
I think the Fediverse will be popular. It's already being adopted by Meta in the way of Threads.
Popularity comes when major companies, like Meta, push for something to be in the mainstream. Will Lemmy be popular and be pushed for the mainstream? Probably not. The mindset of the majority of the admins is against streamlining it. It's why we have a bunch of instances and why so many of them defederated from Threads (which I agree with). They've even taken steps to stop having so many people default to the .world instance in an attempt to diversify it.
Israel has attacked and delayed these centre's several times. The latest was a sound bomb from a day or two ago.
Which is not a really good criticism in my opnion. It still had a lot of the core elements of AC, they just tried some new things. And a lot of it worked out.
