Yea, I find some of the comments in here very strange. Guess what, guys? The NBA doesn’t have the answers because the country doesn’t have the answers. The nba is just a microcosm of society when it comes to this. Over 1 in 3 women have experienced physical violence, stalking, or rape in their lifetime. 5 million acts of domestic violence occur annually to women aged 18 and older and most by men. That means fellas that some of the dudes you’re talking to at the water cooler at work have also done this. It’s a real problem that we haven’t solved for decades.

And I get the sentiment that “Alright well the courts won’t punish so the most we can do is make it so they can’t play basketball.” But that isn’t completely practical. The players Unions job is to stick up for the players, so they’re looking at it like if the justice system says what these guys are doing isn’t punishable but for so much and our job is to stick up for the players, how are we going to give them a more harsh punishment than they receive outside? And really, we’re talking about a very small percentage of guys(We can all name the cases), so how much of a problem can we say this is versus the rest of the country? I mean reminder that we have a rapist serving as a Supreme Court justice as we speak.
