This is totally kosher where I am and I've done it before, but if I think I'll be observed I'll ask my neighbor. They've always responded with some variation of "oh of course, I consider it trash" and sometimes explain reasons they're getting rid of it that dissuaded me from taking it that weren't immediately obvious.

I think if one were to limit the places through which they get news, it's not all that difficult. And I can sympathize with people who think absolutely no civilians should be put in harms way. Though I think it would be tricky to structure a world view where someone both thinks zero civilians should be harmed AND that Israel is a victim, if they had any understanding of the conflict beyond a weekly US media news story.
Life by You's cancelation was a big disappointment to hear. I figured if any studio had an understanding of emergent intercharacter storytelling in the way a Sims game needed, it was Paradox.
That said, Para-Lives is still in the works and looks quite promising.
There's still hope. Just not from EA.

To answer OP's question succinctly, yes, and they do.
Oh yeah. I use it all the time. It's useful to hit the key and type the first 3-5 characters of the program I want to launch and hitting return.
It's also the function key for the screen clip feature which I use often (Windows + Shift + S).
