Unfortunately the decline of the heavy-duty post game has reduced blocks

Which, specifically, blinds people to how absolutely insane peak Shaq was.

Buying AI-generated headshots from a site where other people can identify them is an unbelievable moronic self-own. I can create headshots like this at home in a few minutes with Midjourney or Dall-E and I'm no expert.

What does it say that when I see this headline I automatically start bracing myself for RJ Barrett?

(He's actually having a markedly better year, current BPM 0.7)

MJ is IMHO the GOAT, but by his nature calls for building a team around him. KD seems like you could drop him in almost anywhere and he’ll just cook. There has never been another scorer like him.

I feel so bad for Giannis watching this, he is elevating the game and they give him nothing. Can’t win with these cats

I’m imagining some telling me in 1990 that Charles Barkley, of all people, would be the voice I trust most in pro sports about moral and social issues.

Bags aren’t everything but I wish RJ Barrett had one

How strong was the Ewing hype in 1984? He was the clear consensus #1 pick, but I’m looking for “not picking him at #1 would be your last act as a GM” level hype.

The rookies I remember having immense hype, the kind where the draft is considered a sweepstakes for who will get them:

Shaquille O’Neal (1992) Tim Duncan (1997) LeBron James (2003) Zion Williamson (2019) Victor Wembanyama (2023)

Three out of four have had top 10-15 all time careers. I hope Zion gets it together to have at least a Hall of Fame career.

Who am I forgetting / who was there before 1992?
