No one here mentioned Invidious but how does it compare to it?

I've heard a lot of people say they use Google considerably less after they started using ChatGPT, but personally my usage of Google hasn't gone down that much. I still make lots of random searches out of curiosity, and use Perplexity to make those same searches, I'd actually say Perplexity has made me search more in total.

However, it has greatly reduced the amount of troubleshoot searching I've done since I can ask GPT about how to do X and Y in a certain app (and often gives accurate answers about navigating app UIs), and troubleshooting.

I have an 8GB M1 MacBook Air and 16GB MBP (that I haven't turned in for repair) that I'd like to run an LLM on, to ask questions and get answers from notes in my Obsidian vault (100s of markdown files). I've been lurking this subreddit but I'm not sure if I could run LLMs <7B with 1-4GB of RAM or if the LLM(s) would be too quality.

I like following the open source LLM scene, but I'm going to keep using ChatGPT plus since its still much better than other LLMs out there. This is the only subscription I can justify paying for and consistently get my $$ worth out of (though I am a broke college student). The only way I'd stop is if running paid close sourced models weren't any better or if open LLMs were better, or at the very least they weren't much better to justify paying. Open ones have the advantages of privacy, offline usage, and for some of them: less or no censorship.

I just ended up deleting the old one and syncing all over again since it didn’t take much time for the files to sync. But I have a folder that’s let’s say several GBs or bigger, what should be done? I did attempt just syncing them again but then I saw old files appear and decided fuck it.
