She might just not get the implications until the second panel
You overestimate how difficult it is to stand up to so many people so hell bent on you dying. Violence cannot be used as a deterrent on them, because they don't the consider long term consequences to their crusade. If they did, they wouldn't do it
why be only strange when you can be any and all at once?
ur a goof. Like i said, you're missing the trees focused on the forest. It literally doesn't matter if humans live or not bc your foolish behind is dead either way
When life first boomed enough to trigger a multi million year long ice age, it bounced back and established a new homeostasis. The life that caused it did not go "extinct," instead evolving to not be the architects of its own demise. When homeostasis is broken, evolution uses mass death and heavy handed selection pressures to reestablish it.
Unless basically all large multicellular life goes extinct, humanity will continue. Industrial civilization will tear itself apart from environmentally triggered human conflict before it could ensure that.
We ain't going "extinct" and people quite frankly need to realize that "extinction" is an incredibly low bar to clear. Billions will die and millennia of suffering lay before us, but the human species will be a-ok, especially if our industrial civilizations collapse. It's a fire that'll burn itself out, and thus history will continue.
The human species isn't people, but a term to describe our shared code; code that isn't you or the people you love. We are more than just our long term machinery. If we only focus on the forest, we miss the well being of the trees. I'd rather all our bloodlines end and us live lives focused on ourselves, than have an eternity of worshipping constructs that force us to live for them.
why many word when few word?
eh, there are better uses of your body and life
There is a rule still, but not of law. We live in an era of total might makes right, with not a shred of legality to be found. If you don't have resources or violence, you have nothing. We have no institutional recourse and only our labor as power. We are all effectively slaves who can be sent to death camps at any time if we don't use our single bargaining chip every month, so put all the labor you can afford to into providing essential services and goods for neighbors (healthcare isn't available for us any other way, so start there)
Products and services should only be findable when you actually need them. Think using a search engine to find a specific good, or a business sign labeling an establishment. Such bare bones information could be considered advertising, but it does less to to drive human behavior than facilitate it. It's not convincing you to get something, but helping you get what you already decided you need.
The advertising problem, like all problems in capitalism, stem from the ever increasing desire to outcompete and be the only power in town; the need to not just meet the needs of society, but have more power than everyone else in society. Competition drives innovation, but to what end?
Spoiler alert: the end is holding power over fellow men, not making life better for you or them. This evolutionary force optimizes for something other than you as an individual, just like Darwinian evolution.
edit: bonus panel in question:
As I previously mentioned, there's no reason to think there isn't a jump in time between panel 1 and 2. She hears something on the TV, only to later realize while working that there's no reason for her to continue if she's already been written off as worthless. Both the inconsistencies in her eyes and in the grass could easily be compression artifacts (zoom in on her hair to see very blocky compression artifacts as the algorithm fails to capture detail). There's also the fact that errors could easily just be human, as artists do make all those types of mistakes.
The biggest thing that makes me think this is human made is the cropping on the left side, like someone cropped out the artist's signature. If this is AI, the person who made it put a lot of trouble into some goofy 4d chess mind games
