Depends on the make and model. Some cars can just keep going with low maintenance, but I do see your point!

Looks pretty good, but the western slope is seriously lacking the infrastructure so far.

Where I live in Colorado, the grid is dominantly coal but they are slowly transitioning. Thank you for your insight.

Fair..

Batteries are removable! Maybe I don't have anything to worry about then. I can keep the batteries out until I need it.

 

My mom got me the spot gen 4 for Christmas. Im out in the middle of nowhere a lot of the time and am interested in having it for emergencies or communicating when I have no signal however I am not a fan of being tracked on the go. Is there anything to be concerned of with these type of products? Id say yes but I cant find anything online.
