Off screen behavior can absolutely be related to the more extreme ends of method acting. Some method actors, not all, literally stay in character after the camera stops. I am being very careful to not cast my opinion on all method actors because there is a spectrum.

And I don't fully subscribe to separating art form the artist If they're alive and still being intolerable human beings, I think it is correct to incorporate that into overall valuation of their skill as an artist. The creative process is as much a part of the art as the end piece is.

Lol, you and I are going to have to agree to disagree on that one. IMO, Leto is the poster boy for a particular strain of method acting that comes across cringe on screen and creates an unpleasant work environment off camera.

“In this climate, you’d get in more trouble for saying something bad about Donald Trump on the air,” the exec noted.

Yep. Anonymous allegations, no criminal or civil charges, all known before studios decided to put him in two high profile movies = he's backed by Hollywood power and will cruise through this just fine.

Sexual assault allegations aside, I'm baffled why he gets high profile jobs. He is not a good actor but he is an unpleasant coworker. He has nothing good going for him.

Pretty sure the real answer is Alice; the gays took over the fandom because Kristen Stewart. So Christians and Muslims should defer to ... Wiccans?

Even people with textbook "consistent" menstrual cycles vary by 3-5 days. People with "inconsistent" cycles vary by weeks or even months. Tracking helps anyone on that spectrum.

I'm towards the more consistent end of the spectrum, but I still use a calendar reminder because my cycle is not a perfect calendar month long so it's not as easy as "my period will start around the 5th of every month". I want to ensure I'm prepared (mentally and with menstruation products) before it starts. Doubly so because I travel for work a fair bit and need to pack for it.

And yes, I moved away from a cloud-based app to a local-only tracker over privacy concerns.

Don't forget problems with everything around AI too. Like in the US, the Big Beautiful Bill (🤮) attempts to ban states from enforcing AI laws for ten years.

And even more broadly what happens to the people who do lose jobs to AI? Safety nets are being actively burned down. Just saying "people are scared of new tech" ignores that AI will lead to a shift that we are not prepared for and people will suffer from it. It's way bigger than a handful of new tech tools in a vacuum.

What? No. It's set in the 1930s when Irish immigrants were seen as less than other western European immigrants because of a mix of types of bigotry. The movie just uses historical reality.

Racism, religious discrimination, classism, take your pick of bigotry.

Rowing club coach at a university I was interested in told me I was too short to bother trying out but if I dropped all muscle to squeak under 120 lbs I could try for coxswain.

Jokes on them, rowing generally requires waking up before the ass crack of dawn which was not conducive to my preferred college experience. I found rugby, which has way broader allowance for body type and no sunrise torture sessions.

This feels a bit like PTA-driven panic about kids eating Tide Pods when like one person did it. Or razor blades in Halloween candy. Or kids making toilet hooch with their juice boxes. Or the choking game sweeping playgrounds.

But also, man on internet with no sense of mental health ... sounds almost feasible.

The Venn diagram of men who name their boys jr, III, IV, etc and the men who really care that their child has a penis is not a perfect circle but does overlap a lot IME. Gives "boys carry on my blood, girls are accessories" vibes.
