I don't. And because it's an admin setting that can be toggled easily, any websearch you would do to find other people talking about instances that don't downvote should probably be double-checked with the instance itself. Even mine had a brief discussion about changing course and enabling downvotes.
There's a GitHub project to compare instances. I don't think it includes downvote setting, but maybe the other factors will at least help you narrow down. https://github.com/maltfield/awesome-lemmy-instances?tab=readme-ov-file
You're not the only one asking this. Lots of museums are putting in place policies against exhibiting human remains and working on repatriating remains they do have.
Things to websearch if interested, UK Human Tissue Act of 2004, and keywords along the lines of "museum policies human remains".
I didn't read your post, I just downvoted because I don't like your username. Whatcha' going to do about it?
(Jk, I picked the instance I joined based on the fact that it doesn't do downvotes. I think downvotes drive perverse incentives)
You must have eustachian tubes that equalize pressure well and frequently.
Whatcha doin' that's given you such loose ear holes, hmmm?
For real, normal swallowing and jaw movement can be enough for some people's tubes to open up and equalize pressure. Sounds like you're on one end of the bell curve. Enjoy. You might be amazing at scuba diving.
Meta wants to decrease its reliance on Google
Ugh, get a room already. Everyone can tell those two bicker because they want to be in each other's pants.
If you're on an instance with strong moderation and that is not what you want, maybe you should consider opening an account on a more free-wheeling instance. Picking a different instance solves your problem without affecting others' current experiences.
I picked an instance based on their moderation policy. I want their level of moderation. I want them to block porn and the bigoted BS that some other instances allow. It would be a terrible downgrade in experience if I was at the whim of every other instances' moderation approach instead of by the instance I selected.
Heh, banks are absolute shit at the soft entry points, like calling up with minimal personal information and a teller opening the door wide for you.
There was another person in my hometown with the same name and we used the same bank. They gave her access to my account multiple times. I had long passwords and an account flag reminding the tellers to confirm Date of Birth EVERY TIME. They still let her withdraw several hundred dollars from my account (not that she was trying to to steal my money, just that she requested a withdrawal and they didn't confirm the right account). Account closed, bank reported, and I am 100% sure they would make the same fuckup today if I gave them the opportunity.
You would be terrified how easy it can be to get access to accounts without a password or even ID.
Fitness: cycles through the year, some combination of running, indoor climbing, rowing or dragonboat, backpacking
Creative: woodcarving, music, gardening
Moneymaker: nope, I am fortunate enough to have one job with good salary. I do not turn hobbies into side hustles.
Instead of moneymaking, the third category I look for is social. Many of my hobbies can be solo, so I want to make sure I'm doing something that has me out meeting new people. And that my socialization doesn't become predominantly meeting friends in bars.
How unnecessarily condescending.
Are you feeling ok? Do you have a headache that's making you grumpy?
95% of the time, a headache for me means I'm dehydrated. So I drink water + electrolyte drops.
I think many people would agree with you. Not all.
Personally, I do think Puerto Rico is basically a colony in all but name. But I know people living in Puerto Rico now who disagree. And I tend to defer to the people actually living in The Place when it comes to discussions like this.
The Wikipedia article on the Puerto Rico statehood movement might also be interesting to you if you didn't find it yourself already. Puerto Rico has had several referendums in recent years, on one of them:
