Capitalism is merely a child of heirarchal domination. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-1ZK2-viyAo

Real shit im glad you're able to find a few diamonds in the rough -- BUT from the fashy techbros you mentioned to Corpo wide mainstream forcefeeding it, absolutely a net negative.

Truly, I love new tech. Always have. I wanna love AI...but as things stand I come to the inevitable conclusion that it is tossing gas on the fires that are the climate crisis, on social and economic inequity and so, sweet summer child soooo much more. I'm far from a doomer. Pull your head out your ass.

"bruh"

whatever way you slice it, "AI" at this point in time is a gross waste of precious resources and betrays the utter contempt of the Other and the Worker that the Owning class harbors.

its really not a "whole new class" of doing things. Save for a gimmick for improv troops to do a one-off, in practice it ammounts to "Why pay for workers when you can automate machines to pass off an unreliable result as a substitute and then send disatisfied customers into support line limbo" devaluing the labor while offering a "platinum plan" to wealthy clients willing to be extorted to talk with a human from your business.

STEM examples? Maybe -- but be real that's not the majority of whats wrong, and even if it is, it's models trained on socially prejudiced data sets

Nebula.tv

and

Means.tv

both offer more curated platforms that arent owned and operated by the broligarchy

I realize Peertube is free and Floss but it's esoteric and lacking buy in; like a great open source console with no games. (Whats more if you dont use a VPN it can be used to track your view history, iirc)

I'm broke af but planning on getting subscriptions to both asap; real shit bc if the monetization model is "free" (ads) then you the viewer are the product, units for their ecomomy.

and they'll canibalize you when their done with queer people, brown people and other marginalized folks like me.

I remember Andrewism's take on Luddites dispelling a lot of common misconceptions (and results of propaganda, iirc) on the topic

N n nope. Doomerism will not due. The masses without a voice do not deserve to be flushed away just for the sake of being written off along with the outsized vocal minority of status quo warrior right wing authoritarians (and liberal sympathizers of such)

As to an answers beyond simply getting-armed-and-fostering-healthy-gun-culture-and-education-among-us:

"Practicing mutual aid is the surest means for giving each other and to all the greatest safety, the best guarantee of existence and progress, bodily, intellectually and morally."

That's Kropotkin

And then Modern Libs even observe, more verbosely:

"The structures of our state economies are going to matter in terms of protecting democracies, and by that I mean if you look at economies that were based in the kind of small producer economies like New England was vs states like the South and the American West that were always built on the idea of very high capital using extractive methods to get resources out of the land either cotton or mining or oil or water or agri business, those economies always depend on a few people with a lot of money, and then a whole bunch of people who are poor and doing the work for those Rich guys -- and that I'm not sure is compatible in terms of governance without addressing the reality that you know if people have more of a foothold in their own communities, they are then more likely to support the kinds of legislation that Community [Education, Healthcare, ..] and that may be the future of democracy, if not a national democracy"

If a Conservative wants me dead, they’re going to have to work and sweat for it. I’m not doing the heavy lifting for them (A Quote I agree with)

Our resulting interactions may seem chaotic and illegible to authority, but it is through that seeming chaos that vastly complex, horizontal, and resilient practices of learning, cooperation, and reciprocity have historically arisen.
