Madam, why does your hat have a mirror on top?

[–] absGeekNZ@lemmy.nz 3 points 1 month ago

You are correct, the US needs to increase speed limits to even things out again.

THIS

I work with tech; other than in my home office; there is no tech in my house.

The voice activated things.....just no. I looked into Mycroft, which looks interesting, but is till a solution looking for a problem.

I have 3 hungry boys to feed, I'm not sure I could carry all of our groceries in one trip. , 😁

Most NZ supermarkets just stack the boxes at the front after the checkout.

Are also keep a few in the back of the car.

Or boxes; we use boxes. Carrying 3 - 4 boxes up stairs is much easier than 10 bags.

We did it a while back, you will adapt pretty quickly.

Gather round children; as I tell you the story of Georgie Pie, it offered cheap local (to NZ) fast food, in this case meat and sweet pies.

Highly successful and well loved, it was a common sight across the country. Unfortunately, the corporate entities from off shore came in, diluting the fast food dollar across many more options. MacDonald's brought the struggling Georgie Pie; mainly for its locations and to remove a competitor from the market.

Every few years; to maintain the trade mark, MacDonald's runs a Georgie Pie promotion where you can get a pie from MacDonald's. It is like the zombie of local "cuisine" reanimated over and over again to server its master; for the only job it is good for.

Medical and electrical insulation. Two places where plastics are better than the alternatives.

This is the way.

Getting my 5yo to accept that he can peddle and balance by himself; takes longer than the ability. He used to crash once he realized I had stopped balancing him, sometimes it would take a minute or more.

I do indeed.

I also took a job far closer to home last year, I'm only commuting 8 minutes each way now.
