It’s why I refuse to use the word and instead say incident.

One thing that changes cultish dynamics is when someone suddenly finds themselves as part of the “out” group.
Repealing roe v wade did this for a LOT of people who didn’t realize it until after the fact; in theory, they were happy to go along with “abortion is wrong.” But then they saw how it being illegal played out in their state, where the government didn’t just want to ban in-state abortions, but get citizens to betray anyone who, with need, went out of state for one.
And then people started dying because doctors were afraid they’d be accused of performing an abortion. And IVF got caught up in it because of sperm and egg banks.
And suddenly, anyone affected by any of those things (a LOT of people) were on the outside, and the targets of ostracism and veiled threats. So they started to become aware of why, even if they don’t believe in abortions, making them illegal is even worse.
That’s the sort of thing that pushes people out of a cult.
If it was really a Beyonce concert, then it appears Beyonce fans all support Harris for president? Because I don’t usually see that type of banner/headwear at music concerts. So congrats, republicans, at getting 30,000 people at a Beyonce concert to rally behind the Democrats… in Texas.
They should all start a new independent company called the Los Angeles Multiplier.
Just had another thought: what would happen if the senate went independent? It’s something that is a remote possibility if enough people worked towards it.
I use a shoe horn. It’s stainless steel. It’s never broken and I’ve had it for over 20 years.
I don’t use it often, but for those times when your feet are wet/swollen or the shoes are leather dress shoes, it’s the only way to go.
Plus, anyone with high arches will need that extra assist. It’s not a nationality thing, it’s a foot and shoe type thing.
First you have to fix the electoral college and FPTP voting. Because until those are removed, you’re always going to end up with effectively a two party system. And if one of those parties is pledging to replace the system with fascism, well, then you’ve only got one democratic option to vote for, no matter their platform.
Once you can rank your options? THEN multiple candidates makes sense.
You forgot people of color and people who don’t hold an ever-narrowing definition of correct religious faith. And people belonging to unions.
I don’t know… he still has lots of support in Alberta.
So when is someone going to point out that Ted Cruz is an immigrant?
Hah… I was playing the election game last week and pulled the same thing. My opposing Republicans were so busy defending Texas and shoring up Florida that they didn’t even notice me taking Nebraska.
Was that the sound of a “whoosh” I heard?
