It would be the Bashir and O'Brian muppets that look suspiciously like Bert and Ernie.

The Cage is pathway to many Trek Canons some consider to be... unnatural.

Even crazier, the Galaxy-class has the capacity to evacuate an additional 10,000+ humanoids.

When you watch videos like this, you realize that 1,000 is not that much against the actual size of the ship. The entire crew can comfortably gather in the main shuttlebay at the same time.

They bring in Commander Maddox to cross-examine Data.

"Did you accuse the plaintiff of only taking direction if eating tuna was involved?"

"I did."

"And do you think this is true?"

"I do."

"And you don't feel sorry at all for saying such a derogatory thing about one of your co-stars?"

"I do not."

That was ONE study, on ONE starship. And the person they questioned was an ANDROID! And the rest of the crew was rolling their eyes the whole time.

Spock: "Ass..."

steps closer to Kirk

Spock: "You are... an ass."

Kirk, smiling: "Yes."

I wish TOS writers had kept leaning into hilariously absurd moment like that. It would have made the show better. It's part of what makes Star Gate and The Orville so lovable.

It's also why I was the only person I knew who actually liked Team Knight Rider. Because there would be random announcements over the home base intercom that would indiscriminately break whatever tension there was with a report of something stupid that just happened somewhere on the ship.

"Technicians, please report to the rec room. The jukebox is stuck on Moon River again."

"Fire control team, report to the kitchen... just in case." Or something to that effect.
