I use Zorin Connect and it shows phone notifications on my desktop. I don't get Lemmy notifications but it may be a piece to the puzzle of a solution.

I watched DS9 and learned a little about empathy, honor, duty, peaceful reconciliation, fitting in (Odo), friendship, etc.... It seems those messages didn't resonate with you at all.

I'm sure they have some Firefox users too. It's going to take a lot more than a few employees using Linux to convince me they wouldn't steal both of my kidneys and leave me in an icy hotel bathtub.

Same as traffic lights. "Inductive-loop traffic detectors use an electrically conducting loop embedded in the pavement to send a signal to the traffic control system to indicate the presence of a vehicle."

It is interesting to be exposed to widely different people. People talk about our internal politics but not usually about, well, socialism or agorism.

Due to the fragmented nature of the Fediverse, it becomes easy to use bots to post manipulative political posts. Real people can do the same, either in ideological support or as a misinformation campaign. Anger sells and manipulation has real world benefits.
