It's possible, I suppose. A plague of locusts is a classic and far more likely cause of destruction.
TNG is classic but start with the intro you like the most. I would avoid the new Picard series until you've watched at least some of TNG and Voyager.
I don't think anyone could stop Janeway breaking the Temporal Prime directive, not even Starfleet time cops.

Wasn't he held captive of that planet of women that wanted to snoo snoo him to death? And teleported long distance with an alien woman to see a sunrise? And had Seven basically throw herself on top of him?
The beginning is amazing and exciting, especially Tom spilling his guts arguing to Janeway to make the test flight.
I'm sure she would explain how efficient that is.
