Hi all !!

I would like to get your opinion on Gevril brand, in my tiring efforts in finding a suitable turquoise/red dialed watched for myself, I came across this Swiss brand.

However, I'm suspecios about it. The retail price is 3000$+ on their website while on online marketplaces it trades for 800$-+

The 3000$ is a bit too high for a watch housing a Salleta movement,

Any idea about them ?

I have been looking for watches with these dial colours but with little success. Can you help in suggesting if you have an idea?

I have been searching for a Coral dial watch and a purple/grape watch.

The ones I found are either big in size or are pricey.

I'm looking for something that's budget friendly, I value thin cases so if it's quartz not automatic then no issues with either.

Reputable brand not necessarily fancy one

Any ideas?

It's always been said that watches should slip under a shirt's cuff.

I find my watches a lot of the time over my cuff, the cuffs are tight.

And simply watches are becoming thicker and biggers.

Maintaining under-the-cuff etiquette is being difficult.

Is it still a thing ? Does it really affect one's appearance or we have to evaluate how watches wear given the changes in watches trebds from small ones to big ones ?

Hi all! I hope you are having a wonderful time.

In fact I have been looking for a Coral Dial for quite a long time with no success. They are either Fire Red Or Orange in the market.

I came across this limited edition Tsuyosa which I think based on the pics online is the coral color in my mind. Any insights?

I'm a bit hesitant that it's 40mm but the lug to lug is 45mm which I think reasonable. Anyone knows how it wears ?

The price is almost 350-400$, I'm not sure how much normal Tsuyosas cost, is it reasonable?

orient bambino ac0m06l

I like the new colours + size of the limited edition bambinos.

I found it for almost 500$. Is it reasonable? What was the retail price? I looked online but didn't find a lot of details about the watches or their prices.

One day I read they will be released and in an eye blink they were gone

I'll be selling my Alpinist Mystic Forest for this one, for I need something a little bit dresseier, more versatile, lighter and more appealing to me.

What do you think ? ........................................................

I have a West End, Seiko Alpinist Mystic Forest among others. I don't want to get deeper although I liked the new colours of the Orient.

Your perspective is reasonable, I have some obsessions with buying Show-class birds that people deem unworthy or what if "they die tomorrow" but I do defend myself that they have a good pedigree and so!

I do have my small collection and I wish I don't go beyond 😅. Yes most people don't care but some wearers think people do care and some others buy because they like them, but here I'm questioning what's the intrinsic value for expensive ones? Quality, material etc, not really different once we reach a certain point.

Yes people don't care. However, some people who wear expensive pieces think, or want people to look at them.

And yes I do prefer my 200$ over my 1000$ ones. I prefer quartz over mechanical they are lighter and more accurate.

I have been always caught by this since I got the watches fever. Prior to this, I used to consider 200$ is a high price for a watch.

When I digged deeper into the watch world, I found out that most articles speak about 1000$-2000$ as affordable options.

Now yes I gumped to buying 1000$ as I'm getting more deep into the hobby, but what's next?

In essence, good watches are made of steel (how much is the price 150grams that goes into making a watch?) And good movement, sapphire crystal, nice design.

U understand there are some exceptions, spring drive, thin movements or so.

But generally when we hit a certain price point 🎯, there is nothing a watchmaker can offer or maybe what they offer has a negligible effect like an extra accuracy of 1-2 seconds.

What's more, given the income of the average person, like if my monthly income is 2300$, I'm not sure where I fit in the income level (graduate with 3 years career)

1000$ is a big portion of my income. And I believe it's the case for many.

If anyone wears a good copy of Rolex, AP, omega etc, how many people can people can tell the difference from a distance?

And if they do, is there an intrinsic value in this time peice that makes a steel packed movement this expensive?

Thoughts ?

I'm not sure about other countries, but at least in my country people want give a shit whether someone is wearing a Casio or something else.

I mean our country is a bit strange, even celebs when they come no body really cares
