TIL that after 9/11, many Americans opted to drive instead of fly. The shift led to a surge in crash deaths. The number of lives lost (2,000+) is comparable to those killed on 9/11. in c/til@lemmy.world

Covid matters but comparing death counts doesn't exactly mean the deaths in 9/11 didn't matter. That would be the relative privation fallacy. I wouldn't shrug it off just cause it was "only 3000 people" or something.
