Similar risks I would say. The UK by and large chose "the sensible option" in the last general election. The equivalent of Harris/dems, or the "anti chaos" option.

Reelecting Trump vs reelecting the Tories is a fair comparison, especially as the Tories are moving further and further right wing.

In summary the labour party have about 3 years to make some noticeable impact to people's lives in the UK, but all that against the backdrop of huge financial issues incurred during the past decade or so, increasing war and conflict and now the Trump presidency.

There very well maybe people who will follow the conservative party on their way further right. The UK already had it's brexit moment and has not really learned from it fully.

Let's see YOUR home screen setup!

What I find quite interesting is that sync is obviously very feature rich, it's why it was many people's preferred client.

I just downloaded a few of the others and here's a few things:

  • you can set different sort methods based on view. This feels important at the moment when communities are smaller. I have my subs set to New but Instance and All to something else
  • feed view customisations are super deep. Nice to have obviously but this is where all the inherited value from the old reddit app is
  • gesture navigation still feels better than all others but I might be biased because I'm used to it

However, it's undeniable that there are still some basic things it doesn't handle perfectly. At the moment the perks outweigh the missing bits for me, BUT I found the pricing at launch to be optimistic at best, so like another commenter, I'm using the free version and blocking ads via Blokada and I'm happy enough

It would be great if it did everything perfectly I agree but that's true for all the apps rn

I use trello for this

Yeah exactly. I don't mean before the storm. I guess I was the target market for LiS2! I thought it expanded the scope of the basic game mechanics in such a cool and interesting way. It was big and bold and I'm really sad it missed the mark with most

By third one, do you mean true colors? This is much closer to before the storm I'd say, and the subject matter isn't as 'serious' as LiS2. However I'd say the writing (specifically the dialogue) is probably the strongest of the 4 games.

The community is honestly very annoying about it.

The Max/Chloe shipper community, I completely agree. I'm a huge fan of the game series but I kinda blame that group for LiS2 not being super successful, and I would have loved a 3rd one with that kind of scope!

The whole article is gory. This was written by either an idiot or a robot. Paragraph 1:

Though Deck Nine has been developing new Life is Strange games for some time, the recently released Double Exposure is the first to revisit the characters from the 2015 original, resulting in some controversy.

The first Deck Nine LiS game revisits the characters from the 2015 original 🙃

I'm looking forward to the game, not sure why it's allowed review scores on Steam before it's released though.

Oof thanks for the recommend. I will have to keep that one in the back pocket for a rainy day I think. Looks like quite a steep learning curve!

[–] calamitycastle@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

OK I'm using it to type this. Seems quite good! Thanks for the rec

[–] calamitycastle@lemmy.world 3 points 2 weeks ago

I'll give it a go, thanks!

I still miss Swype; I'm not aware of any other board that allows gesture cut copy and paste in quite the same way. Also the capitalisation was really easy. I'm using openboard now and it's fine but lacking that premium feature set
