My state still does that and requires an updated birth certificate and social security card. My birth state requires an updated driver's license and secondary ID and court order. I don't have the energy, time, and money to argue with 2 states, the judicial system, and multiple federal offices, and get a therapist to sign off on the fact that I'm not just submitting myself to all this as an elaborate prank.

Dumping into the water. It is an overall expense, and not related to the business interests. They just needed some evil villain stuff going on because Elon really wants to meet Captain Planet.
I always get a little antsy around this kind of stuff because eventually, it's going to get to a point where it either gets treated as a diagnostic tool or insurance requirement for trans people accessing healthcare.
Honestly, I think I'm just fatigued. Retribution isn't going to bring back the dead or curb hate crimes in the future. Ultimately, I hope those that are guests of the carceral system are treated well because they're being made to cede their freedom to the state.
Personally, I'd rather he reflect and better himself. I'm not entirely comfortable wishing suffering and misery on someone.
