No? It's exaggeration certainly. But I'm one of two properties at the end if a long private road. This is how it's supposed to work. Inflation doesn't stop when you stop working. If your savings and income are shrunk by inflation around you what are you supposed to do? Some of us will have investments that will grow with inflation, but many will not. This is literally designed to work this way, you collect an amount based on the current cost of living, not what that cost was when you were paying into it. It's a good system.
