5950x with 7900xtx runs fine on my 850 watt.

Never heard of this either, thanks! Any idea how well Battleeye/EAC work on it?

You really can’t go wrong with https://pcpartpicker.com/. Obviously double check things like GPU size mentioned below, and up size your PSU if you ever intend to upgrade GPU in same case. 850 Watts is a solid choice regardless of what your current picks need.

“Because” is a pretty strong word. I’d be surprised if it was related at all.

Nah, 10 was fine for the most part. But it already has an announced EoL.

Gaming computer, I dropped Win11 because with PiHole blocking windows analytics, the whole OS slows down. Just opening the start menu took ~4 seconds with Ryzen 5950x on an m2 ssd with 64GB of RAM. Everything was sluggish.

The problem is that there really doesn't seem to be a great way to scale Lemmy. And yes, it's federated, but if someone joins my instance and starts browsing and posting on lemmy.ml communities, they still get slammed by my users. And so any popular community is going to struggle because of the lack of ability to scale.

The experiment just being if you quit?

I pulled an all nighter and went to check on PoE2 trailer thoughts and was hit with private sub. So I spent a couple hours setting up my instance instead lol.
